SUMMARY By using double fluorescent labeled plasmid DNA, the formation of the gene vectors and the release of free DNA were observed by fluorescence resonance energy transfer. This method appeared to be a reliable and valuable procedure to evaluate the stability of vectors in physiological environment including serum.
