EMPLOYMENT OF LAMBDA CARRAGEENAN COMPLEXES IN CONTROLLED RELEASE TABLET FORMULATIONS

Controlled release formulations were obtained based on complexes between lambda carrageenan and three basic drugs: Metoprolol tartrate, Tramadol HC1 and Bupropion HC1. For all the drugs considered the release was completed in about 10-12 hours, although different kinetics were observed depending on the solubility of the complexes.
