No single block design is suitable for all applications. Selection of the appropriate design must be based on consideration of the process and process risks. For applications with high heat loads, a new pipe coil alloy and associated casting technique (Patents Pending) has been developed which achieves metallurgical bonding at the pipe coil to cast-around copper interface. Mechanical durability over existing designs is established due to the achievement of a metallurgical bond, as well as reducing stresses in the copper at the outside of the pipe coil.
