In this paper, the calculation of the stress-deformation state (SDC) of the foundation of heavy and conventional buildings is studied. Heavy buildings (large in a plan and transmitting large loads) require a special approach for deciding the size of calculation domain as well as the parameters of soil, which is closely related to geotechnical survey. The calculation methods for heavy buildings, soil models and the determination of soil parameters are discussed in this paper.
