The industrial use of experimental SEA (Energy Flow Analysis - EFA) is inhibited by the considerable amount of time required to acquire the necessary measurements. This paper starts by examining the trade-off between model accuracy and the number of measurements taken to define the subsystem energies. Although many samples are required for accurate CLF determination, it has been found that very few are necessary to accurately predict the effect of a modification. This is demonstrated by predicting the change in cabin noise level due to a change in roof damping to within 3dB by using a model based on one measurement point per subsystem.
