ADVANCED AUTOFOCUSING TECHNIQUES FOR VERY HIGH RESOLUTION ISAR IMAGING OF MOVING AND ROTATING TARGETS

The problem of very high resolution Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar (ISAR) imaging of moving targets is considered. In particular, a new autofocus technique to image rotating targets is proposed. The new algorithm refers to ground targets with several dominant scatterers and is based on the contrast optimisation criterion. A complete theoretical and simulated analysis is provided. The application to live ISAR data validates the proposed technique.
