For image processing and computer vision on the parallel processor system, it is important to reduce the communication overhead. To overcome this problem, we are developing a function based programming language for parallel processor systems, called Valid-A. Valid-A can achieve flexible and efficient computation for image processing and computer vision on the parallel processor system. In this paper, we show that the performance of the parallel processor system with Valid-A is very efficient in recognizing not only 2-D objects but also 3-D objects. These are executed on the super computer VPP700 which have 32 PEs (Processor Elements).
