The temporal evolution of a bioerodible depot is essentially linked to its drug release properties.~1 Mechanisms such as phase inversion, chemical transformation including enzymatic degradation, diffusion, and transport occurring both at the itnerface and in the bulk are manifest at various stages~1,2 and can be characterized by a variety of techniques.~1,3,4 In in vivo studies of a protein delivered over 28 days, release-rate profiles are correlated to structural and compositional properties of the polymer/drug explants.
