Low NOx Retrofit of Two 1300 MW Coal Fired Boilers

The boilers at TVA's cumberland station are among the largest pulverized coal fired boilers worldwide. These two cell-fired once-through boilers have a Maximum Continuous rating of 10 Mlb/hr (1260 kg/s) main steam flow for a net rating of 1292 MWe. Each unit was retrofitted with 88 Foster Wheeler Low NOx Burners and a Boundary Air Ssytem. The final reheater was also replaced.
