A review of the evolution and modifications made to extend component life for a ge stag-100 combined cycle unit

This is a review of the development of modifications made to combustion turbine component hardware to extend the service life of the components and the time between outages for a single shaft combiend cycle unit (GE STAG 100 -7E GT). The original time between outages was less than 500 hours; toady that same interval has exceeded 10,000 hours by utilizing revised clearances, updated materials and wear resistant coatings and thermal barrier coatings.
