Agrobacterium-mediated, pollen tuber pathway (PTP) and particle bombardment are important methods for cotton genetic transformation and the technology has advanced greatly in recent years. Challenges exist from cotton genetic engineering. However, cotton takes some advantages for multi-gene transformation just mainly because of successful development of PTP mehtod. The current results of studies on cotton multi-gene transformation via PTP with 9 plasmid vectors and onto transgenic and non-transgenic cottons, which were conducted by authors, proved possibility and importance for co-transformation and overlapping transformation.
