Removal of organics from bayer liquor and wet oxidation

Many processes have been suggested to reduce the concentratio of organics from the Bayer liquor. However, very few of these processes have been put into commercial use because they usually require significant capital investment. One successful process that is in use at certain alumina refineries is "liquor burning". However, liquor burning is alos capital intensive, expensive and requires additional technology to minimise the potential for air emissions.
