In search of the spatial dimensions of reproduced sound: Verbal Protocol Analysis and Cluster Analysis of scaled verbal descriptors

When assessing the spatial performance of a sound reproducing system, aknowledge of the dimensions forming the perceived spatial impression isimportant. In this search, methods from the behavioural sciences have to beconsidered. The analysis of an earlier experiment, inspired by aspects of theRepertory Grid Technique, focusing on finding common patterns among a groupof subjects, is described.
