Results are presented for the treatment of cesium in the highly saline acidic high level liquid waste (HLLW) by potassium titanium hexacyanoferrate (KTiFC). The properties of KTiFC are given. The removal of cesium-137 from the genuine Chinese highly saline HLLW and from the simulated HLLW with two colums connected in series is carried out. The dynamic Cs capacity is 0.41 mmol/g at 1percent Cs breakthrough and 0.71 mmol/g at 90percent breakthrough. Part of cesium in cesium-loaded KTiFC can be eluted and recycled with 8M nitric acid. The Cs-loaded KTiFC inorganic ion exchanger can be immobilized in the stable titanate ceramic waste form after destroyed the cyan.
