Study and Experiment of Q3 Based Interconnection of Network Management System in Multi-vendor Environment

One Object of TMN is to provide a method to solve the problems of network management in multi-vendor environment. As the standard interface, Q3 interface has provided methods of interconnection of management system. TMN provide the recommendation of Q3 interface, but Q3 interface has many options, and these bring some difficult problems in implementing interconnection of multi-vendor management systems among different vendors. Describing Q3 interface in detail, the concept, the method and the procedure of interconnection of network management systems in multi-vendor environment are introduced.
