Diode detectors have found wide applications in radiation therapy due to their high spatial resolution, high sensitivity and ruggedness. Some of their limitations have been discussed in publications, such as sensitivity degradation with radiation, SSD and field size dependence. This paper addresses some important issues that may not be well recognized-diode impedance, directional dependence, accumulated dose effects.
