Recovery, recycling and reuse of packaging materials from post consumer wastes

This work has analyzed, developed, optimized and upscaled techniques for collection, separation and recycling of packaging wastes, including compatibilization and processing of recovered plastics. The referred techniques have been object of preliminary researcy by the different members of the consortium. The ultimate goal has been the integration of such developed techniques into a cost efficient and accurated recycling scheme to be implemented by the industrial partners. The feasibility of different methods for dispoal of plastic waste has been assessed (e.g. recycling, reuse, incineration, composting and deposition) for different particular cases.
