Risk Management in the Department of Defense

Since 1995, the Department of Defense (DoD) has increased its emphasis on risk management and changed the approach to its implementation. This presentation briefly summarizes the relationship between risk management and the DoD acquisition reform initiatives instituted by the Department in 1994-95, the evolution of risk management within DoD to its current state, and the contributions of the DTSE&E-chaired Risk Management Working Group.
