Making the most of marginal aggregates

This paper outlines the results of an experimental programme using recycled construction and demolition (RCD) waste as aggregates in new concrete and compares test results with concretes contianing natural aggregates only. Relationships have been established between the use of these materails and the mechanical properties of the concrete, with a view to defining limits for RCD materials used as a replacement for natural aggregates.
