This work presents a simple and effective means of evaluating production lines and laboratory spaces for EMI (Electro Magnetic Interference) risks. Antennas were fabricated for HGAs by removing the slider and connecting a 50 OMEGA coaxial cable terminated in the 50 OMEGA input impedance of a 1GHz oscilloscope. EMI sensitivity levels for heads are presented, and laboratory and production areas have been purged of some EMI risks.
