The stratabound Ba-Cr-Fe-Cu-Zn mineralization within the metamorphic complex at Busovaca occurs in the Uppper-Silurian, Lower Devonian metapelites, metapsamites and metabasites that formed under low grade metamorphism conditions at 350 to 450 deg, and 3 to 5 kbar. The ore minerals are siderite, zinc-rich chrome-spinel, ferrichromite, magnetite, Mn-ankerite, and sulfides. The gangue minerals are albite, quartz, hyalophane, fuchsite and barite. The zoned Cr-spinels, Cr-rich minerals and hyalophane are interpreted as product of retrogressive hydrothermal activity during the final uplift of Dinarides.
