The gold-bearing quartz veins in the metamorphic rocks at the Drakontio area, central Macedonia, northern Greece

Details of the gold-bering quartz veins in the Drakontio area are reported for the first time. The ore bodies contain up to 22.5 g/t gold. In an attempt to interpret the genesis. of the ore bodies, emphasis is given to their mineralogy, microthermometry and structural features, as well as to the chemical composition of the sulphides, sulphosalts and gold.
