Comparative characteristics of PGE mineralization of carbonatites of the Loolecop, Phalabora massif, South Africa (one mineral of Pt, 8 minerals of Pd and 5 minerals of Au and Ag) and Kovdor massif, Kola Peninsula, Russia (7 minerals of Pt, 10 minerals of Pd and 4 minerals of Au and Ag) are given. In spite of the mineralogical similarities between precious mineralization of the Phalabora carbonatites and that of the Kovdor carbonatites, there are significant differences in the ocmpositional characteristics and temperature of crystallization (Rudashevsky et al. 1995; 1998). This may be caused by the general compositional differences, i.e. the Phalabora mineralization is richer in copper and poorer in sulphur than that of the Kovdor massif.
