Abstract: With the launch of the SPOT5 satellite, planned in November 2001, the SPOT system will significantly improve its performances and capacities. Thanks to a specific detector, SPOT5 will provide panchromatic images at a resolution of 5 meters and up to 3 meters using sophisticated ground processing, although multispectral images will have a resolution of 10 meters and 20 meters. !0
