Stress Corrosion Cracking (SCC) is the intergranular or transgranular cracking on alloy steel as a result of combination between static stress and special condition. This type of corrosion is usually seen in geothermal, oil, and gas fields, which also produces hydrogen sulfide (H_2S) as impurity. At present this problem can not be controlled successfully. To solve this problem, a laboratory study is conducted to determine the rate of corrosion by using three specimens of alloy steel, i.e. AlSl 420, AlSl 4140, and AlSl 1045 which each of its will be simulated in hydrogen sulfide environment with varying pressures and temperatures.
