This paper describes a service integration method, which is based on a generalized name resolution model. On the internet users can access various distributed services, but it is still difficult to access these services seamlessly. This is because each service provider uses a different policy and technique, (e.g. format, hierarchical structure, granularity and communication protocol) for its services. To integrate such heterogeneous services, it is required to provide a mechanism that utilizes distributed objects as components and integrates them according to user demands. It is also preferred to allow sharing of the integrated services among users. A generalized name resolution model is a novel mechanism that fulfills the stated requirements. In this model, the HTTP Context Object is introduced to integrate service objects and construct Web pages which meet users' demands. Each HTTP Context Object resolves URLs that direct the distributed components to construct Web pages. The constructed Web pages and their URLs are referred to as virtual Web Pages and virtual links, respectively Distributed HTTP Context Objects act like HTTP proxy servers and they co-operate to interpret virtual links and serve the corresponding virtual Web pages.
