Summary form only given. We describe a micro deformation model ofwoven fabric deformation for computer animation. In simulating the wovenfabric deformation, we do not deal with precise mechanical models. Wehave adopted the crimp theory proposed by Peirce, as the geometricalmodel of our model, using a surface model which represents threadsconstructing woven fabrics. The Bezier surface is chosen as the surfacemodel because it allows for the representation of smooth and complexshapes by a few points, called the control points. Coordinates of thecontrol points in three-dimensional space are determined byapproximation using the geometric model. Since the control pointscorrespond to the surface shape, the movement of the control pointsdeform the geometrical model. In this paper, we use a simple trellismodel which permits us to represent the anisotropy of the woven fabrics. The computer animation of the woven fabric deformation created by theproposed method are shown
