The absorber used in anechoic and semi-anechoic chambers employed for emissions and immunity testing is examined. The reflectivity of absorber materials is studied using finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) technique. With the powerful computing resource, the method of homogenization is not used to achieve a more accurate result. General reflectivity guidelines are also listed for comparing absorber used for the EMC testing from 30 MHz to 1 GHz.
