The most important technological methods for the synthesis of ethylene oxide polymers are discussed. A series of poly (ethylene oxide) networks with different properties is obtained. UV irradiation of anionically prepared poly (ethylene oxide) resins has significcant advantages over other methods: it is easy, relatively safe and inexpensive. Another fruitful idea is the synthesis of new materials by the UV crosslinking of PEO composites which offers new possibilities for the synthesis of polymer membranes and smart materials.
