ROotwad bank stabilization on the middel rio grande

The Albuquerque Area Office of he Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) installed a test section of rootwads with boulders on the Middle Rio Grande to provide bank protection at a bend located in the Santa Clara Indian Puebol, approximately 121 km (75 miles) upstream of Albuquerque, New Mexico. During the first season of operation, a discharge of 201 m~3/s (7,110 ft~3/s) was experimenced at the iste. Some of the bankline between the rootwads experimenced erosion.
