A low pH spent sulphite liquor with a dissolved solids content of 16percent has been experimentally evaporated in a single tube falling film evaporator with a small temperature driving force of 1.4 deg C. Nylon and polyetheylene tubes 4m in length with an internal diameter of 6mm were used in the study.
