Influence of different lubricants applied during the continuous casting of the aluminum alloy 6063

The production of continuously cast billets and rolling slabs ingots without surface defects is becoming more and more important because the quality of the final products is already influenced by the quality of the billets.A very useful aid to improve the surface quality is the qpplication of lubricants.Although casting without any lubricant is not possible (except EMC) a comparison of different lubricants has not been published.
