Tomographical reconstruction of oceanic inhomogeneities. 1. Formingpartially coherent acoustic wave structures in the ocean with spatiallylocalized noise sources
The formation and features of partially coherent acoustical wavesexcited by spatially localized noise sources are investigated in thiswork. It is shown that nonuniform distributions of the parameters ofpartially coherent waves in oceanic waveguides appear due toinhomogeneities of oceanic environments. Physical models of spatiallylocalized noise sources, such as ships, are developed. Analysis andcalculations show that interference noise can be eliminated byincreasing the size and frequency bandwidth of the noise sources. Theconditions for forming coherence bundle structures are studied from thepoint of view of the possibilities of using them for acousticalmeasurements
