Hardware-in-the-loop simulation at Wright Laboratory's Dynamic Infrared Missile Evaluator (DIME) facility

Abstract: Wright Laboratory's Dynamic Infrared Missile Evaluator (DIME) Facility has been performing hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) infrared seeker exploitation and countermeasures development for over thirty years. A unique feature of this facility is the close integration of hardware exploitation, computer simulation, and HWIL testing, which facilitates feedback between predicted and actual seeker performance. This paper provides an introduction to the DIME Facility's HWIL testing approach and capabilities.!0
