Reliability analysis and reliability-based design of composite laminated plate subject to buckling

摘要

This study investigates reliability and reliability-based optimization of a laminated plate subject to buckling when the material properties, the ply orientation angle between layers, or the applied loads are random variables. ^The buckling load is evaluated by the Galerkin method together with the reduced bending stiffness method, with unsymmetric configurations due to the variations of design parameters taken into consideration. ^In the reliability analysis, the buckling failure is modeled as a series system consisting of eigenmodes. ^The mode reliability is estimated by the first-order reliability method (FORM) with a mode-tracking strategy, which is used for keeping track of the intended mode. ^Then, the system reliability is approximated by Ditlevsen's upper bound. ^In reliability-based optimization, the system reliability is maximized in terms of the mean ply orientation angles. ^Through numerical calculations, effects of correlations between random variables are clarified. ^(Author)
