Hydropower Data Access and Management System

Increased complexity, regulatory requirements, and a need to manage operating facilities more efficiently have made the administration of hydropower facilities at the dawn of the 21st century a comploex task. It is necessary for most hydropower facilities to monitor, at a minimum, headwater and tailwater elevations; inflow and sischarge rates; generator output and capacities; system load demands; and water quality. Monitoring all of this data, meeting regulatory requirements, and balancing system utility demands can become overwhelming. Adding to this regulatory requirements for reporting information and monitoring safety, and the management and reporting of data can create more nuisance and confusion than hydropower operators are prepared to deal with. Top this off with the need to operate multiple facilities and the task becomes monumental.
