Our seismic hazard evaluation addressed the dynamic stability of Lake Almanor and Butt Valley dams, two hydraulic-fill dams in PG&E's Feather River hydroelectric system. For these high hazard dams faults are considered potential seismic sources, if they exhibit evidence of displacement in the past 30,000 to 50,000 years and are capable of producing earthquakes with resultant peak ground accelerations at the dams in excess of 0.2 g.
