The auxiliary transportation systems play a major role in the overall efficiency of the underground mines and in the reduction fo the amount of unattractive labor. Monorail systems with diesel and cable drives, operating in the largest Bulgarian underground coal min - Babino, are described. Data for the type and the number of transported machiens in the last three years are given. The advantages and disadvantages of the monrail transport compared to the conventional duorail transport are discussed.
