Geotechnical Studies for Slope Design of a Large Opencast Coal Mine

摘要

The paper discusses about geotechnical evaluation and slope design of one of the largest opencast coal mine, Gevra (India), which is currently 45 m deep with a strike length of about 5 km and annually produces more than 10 million tons of coal and more than 12 million m~3 of overburden/waste rock.
