This paper introduces the initial scheme to incorporate the existing satellite TV broadcasting network with a new communication network. To mitigate the associated effect of intermodulation interference and adjacent channel interference (ACJ) due to multiple- carrier driven nonlinearity of the satellite transponder power amplifier, an optimization procedure is proposed to allocate the power and frequencies of TV and communication carriers. The implementation of the proposed optimization procedure to an AsiaSat-1 TV transponder results in an feasible scheme of power and frequency assignment of both TV and communication carriers, which is 15dB improvement in terms of C/IM ratio over the initial scheme.
