Polarization-independent optical isolator for single-mode optical fiber connections

Abstract: An optical isolator with GRIN lenses has been developed. The device operates in 1.55 $mu@m wavelength range. Its isolation appears to be better than 40 dB with an insertion loss of 0.5-0.6 dB and polarization sensitivity lesser than 0.1 dB. !3
