Optical storage using organic compounds as recording materials

Abstract: The use of organic compounds as optical storage materials have been receiving more and more attention due to their easy preparation, low cost and tunable properties. In this paper, research results on the application of organic dyes and organo-metallic compounds as optical recording media, such as write-once media, rewritable media, and photochromic media are presented, and preparation technologies of the recording thin films are outlined and discussed.!19
