A two-axis gimballed dual-frequency antenna has been developed for use on a commercial communications satellite. Figure 1 is a general layout of this antenna. Four antennas per satellite are to be used for up and downlink communications with Earth-based stations located anywhere within each satellite's field of view. The following table summarizes the key performance requirements for these antennas and the results obtained from early production model testing.
