This paper deals with the internal scattering of an open cylinder that is illuminated by an incident plane wave. Three different types of terminations for the cylinder are considered: a short-circuit flat plate, a plug represented by a section of coaxial guide with a short-circuit plate, and a set of coplanar blades. In the last termination, energy transmitted through the gaps in the blades is absorbed by a load. Of interest is the monostatic radar cross-section (RCS) of the cylinder with these terminations. In the case of the blades, the spectral energy of the scattered wave which is modulated by blade rotation, is also evaluated.
