C-CORE's newly built anechoic chamber provides the only controlled environment in Newfoundland in which to conduct microwave measurements with minimal electromagnetic interference. The measurement of reflectivity levels from the chamber surfaces and of radiation patterns were used to evaluate the chamber. Sample measurements of the free space voltage standing wave ratio technique indicated that the worst reflectivity level was −18.8 dB at 2.1 GHz. Comparison of antenna radiation patterns, previously measured using compact range methods in the University of Manitoba's anechoic chamber, with those measured in C-CORE's anechoic chamber shows a very good agreement.
