Resonance luminescence (RL) is a special radiation phenomenon, in which the emission wavelength is equal to the excitation wavelength. Our study shows that some solutions of the ion-association complexes can give intense RL, while the Rayleigh scattering is very faint under the same conditions. The RL spectra of rhodamine dyes and their several ion-association complexes, the RL spectra of the ion-association systems of selenium(IV)-iodide-crystal violet and mercury(II)-thiocyanate-victoria blue 4R and their analytical applications have been reported, in this work, our study found that a new resonance luminescence spectrum with at 313 nm and 565 nm appeared when the above ion-association complex formed. The intensity of RL is directly proportional to concentration of CS in the special range. The RL reaction has high sensitivity and good selectivity and so can be applied to determination of trace amounts of CS. When the concentration of CS was further increased to form micelle solution, the resonance luminescence spectra of the ion-association complex disappeared since the ion-associalion complex was solubilized into the micelle, the complex occurred dissociation and rearranged lo form a mixture micelle of composed of the cationic surfactant and eosin Y.
