This research is performed to analyze the treeing phenomena by discharge pulses and luminous images at each phase angle area of applied voltage. The discharge pulses and the discharge luminous images are measured by a special measurement system to analyze the discharge magnitude and the luminous intensity distribution according to several phase angle areas of the applied voltage. Each phase angle area is named Φ 1 - Φ 20 in order from the negative peak of the applied voltage. In this study, we are interested in the discharge magnitude and the luminous intensity distribution at Φ 7 and Φ 17 each phase angle areas. In particular, we take notice of the quantity of partial discharge at the phase angle area of Φ 7 and Φ 17. As a result, the quantity of discharge at Φ 7 and Φ 17 phase angle areas increases with increasing the tree length.
