Spectroscopic study of major components of dissolved organic matter naturally occurring in water

Abstract: Natural organic compounds are present in significant concentration in all types of water. The spectroscopic study of dissolved organic matter and its major components is important for applications of lidar remote sensing techniques for water quality measurements. In this paper, fluorescence emission and excitation spectra, as well as absorption spectra for commercially available analogues of major components of gelbstoff are analyzed and compared with spectra of natural water samples of different origin. !17
