Abstract: The results of recent measurements of the intensity and phase fluctuations of one micron speckle propagating through a two kilometer (round-trip) turbulent path are presented. The data was collected at BMDO's Innovative Science and Technology Experimentation Facility (ISTEF) at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida using a dual-aperture Nd:YAG coherent array transceiver developed at CREOL. The dual-aperture measurement technique allowed for the discrimination of atmospheric turbulence induced phase perturbations from relative target/platform motion induced phase modulation, since the target motion produces common phase modulation in both receivers. The phase and intensity were found to be Gaussian and K- distributed respectively.!2
