W-matrices and arbitrary-length nonorthogonal multiresolution analysis (MRA)

Abstract: We present an interpretation of multiresolution analysis of signal of any arbitrary finite length in terms of matrix theory. In particular, we present a new nonorthogonal MRA associated with 4 coefficients that has vanishing moments up to order 2. A more general theory of this class of transform is also presented.!5
